The Plan and Zoning Commission is a seven-member body of citizens appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by the City Council. Their main task is to conduct thorough reviews of development proposals to ensure they are consistent with the community’s established land use patterns and development standards.
What We Do
The Commission bases its reviews on the goals and policies of the City, as outlined in the Comprehensive Plan, Zoning Ordinance, and Subdivision Regulations. Key responsibilities include:
- Reviewing development proposals for consistency with City standards.
- Reviewing proposed changes to the Comprehensive Plan and Zoning Ordinance.
- Making recommendations for approval, conditional approval, or denial to the City Council.
