Truck Routes

All trucks must use the city’s designated truck routes. You may only leave a designated route to deliver goods, provide services, or for road construction, and you must take the most direct path back to the truck route.

Overweight and Oversize Requirements

Before traveling, please review the City Code 6-9-12-1 Load and Size Limits. Depending on your load, you may need permits from both the Iowa DOT and the City of West Des Moines.

To move a house or large structure, you must provide a bond and proof of insurance. Please visit City Hall to pay fees and submit your application.
