Parking

The best place to park for the Jamie Hurd Amphitheater is West Des Moines City Hall.  You may also park at the West Des Moines Public Library or WDMCS Learning Resource Center. There is handicap accessible parking located on the east side of the City Hall parking lot, closest to the Jamie Hurd Amphitheater.

No parking is permitted on S 35th St.

Seating

There is no built-in seating at the Jamie Hurd Amphitheater. Visitors are encouraged to bring folding chairs or blankets to sit on while enjoying the show.

Food and Beverage

Visitors are encouraged to patronize food trucks when available. Outside food and beverages* are permitted. Please see our beverage policy for permitted and prohibited items.

*Friday Night Live Music Concerts: Outside food and non-alcoholic beverages are permitted. To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all attendees, please note our alcohol policy:

• No Outside Alcohol: Outside alcoholic beverages are strictly prohibited.
• Entry Checks: All bags and coolers will be checked upon entry to the amphitheater.
• On-Site Purchase: Alcohol will be available for purchase within the venue. Valid ID required.
• Card Only: Cash will not be accepted for alcohol purchases; Apple Pay or card payments only.
• No Tipping: Our alcohol servers are not permitted to receive tips.

Once you have submitted your request, expect a phone call and/or email within 72 hours to further discuss and finalize your rental.

*Your rental request application DOES NOT guarantee that the date and time you requested will be accepted.

This is the beverage policy adopted by the Parks and Recreation department for standard use of the Jamie Hurd Amphitheater. Rental events may choose to adopt different policies. Please see specific event information for details

 

Water and Non-alcoholic beverages

There is no water fountain at the Jamie Hurd Amphitheater. When food vendors are present, they are asked to offer non-alcoholic beverages for sale. Visitors are welcome to bring their own water and other non-alcoholic beverages.

 

Alcoholic beverages

At most events*, visitors may bring beer, wine, and canned cocktails, provided it is in cans no larger than sixteen ounces. No glass bottles are allowed. Hard liquor is not allowed.
