Bench Donation Program

Honor a loved one or celebrate a special milestone by donating a park bench. Your gift provides a lasting place for neighbors to rest and enjoy the beauty of West Des Moines.

Cost & Recognition

Donation Cost: $2,500*

Each bench includes a 2” x 10” cast plaque with up to 4 lines of text (about 45 characters per line).

Plaque Customization: $50–$80 per extra inch*

Larger plaques may be available depending on the bench style. Our Park Planner will confirm your options during the selection process.

*Prices subject to change annually on January 1. Some benches have fixed plaque sizes that cannot be modified.

Ordering Process

  1. Contact the Park Planner to confirm an available location.
  2. Submit your payment and custom plaque text.
  3. Review and approve your digital plaque proof.
  4. Benches are ordered quarterly (March, June, Sept, and Dec).
  5. City staff install the bench at the designated location.

Benches are installed on existing concrete pads. You can choose from available spots at these popular locations:
