This artwork was created using all-natural and biodegradable materials. The artist, Jane Ingram Allen, made the handmade paper from local plant waste and seeds. Because of these materials, the art slowly changes over time as it interacts with nature.

Dimensions: 8 feet wide by 3 feet deep by 6 feet high.

About the Donation

Long-time West Des Moines residents Jaey and Brenda Sedlacek generously donated this piece from their private collection to the City in 2024. Brenda also served as a Commissioner on the West Des Moines Public Arts Advisory Board from 2011 to 2023.

The Public Arts Advisory Commission recommended the donation in October 2024, and the City Council officially accepted it on November 18, 2024.
