Youth Recreational Assistance

West Des Moines Human Services offers limited financial assistance for recreational and educational activities available through West Des Moines Parks & Recreation.

  • Eligibility: Available to children up to age 18 who are income-qualifying residents of West Des Moines. View Income Guidelines.
  • Discount: Youth programs are discounted at 50% up to a maximum limit of $250 per child per year (July 1 to June 30).
  • Payment: Human Services staff will notify you and WDM Parks & Recreation of approval. After approval is received, you will pay the registration fee through WDM Parks & Recreation.
  • Note: Assistance cannot be applied to previously paid registrations.
