Bystander Support and Wellness
In West Des Moines, a "bystander" is anyone present during an emergency who is not the patient. This includes family members, friends, or neighbors. Because you play a vital role in our emergency response system, we are here to support you after the sirens fade.
Friends and Family CPR (Non-Certification)
If you have recently witnessed or helped during an emergency, you may find it helpful to learn more about the science behind the life-saving care you saw. We offer a relaxed, hands-only CPR coaching session specifically for bystanders and families of cardiac patients.
- Hands-On Coaching: Work directly with a paramedic to practice your technique.
- Expert Q&A: Get answers to your questions about the emergency in a welcoming environment.
- No Pressure: This is a coaching session to build your confidence, not a formal test.
