The City of West Des Moines operates an emergency medical service to provide life-saving transport to hospitals. As set by the City Council, users of these services are required to pay a fee for transportation and medical care. You can find the specific regulations in the City Code (Title 4, Chapter 2).
How to Pay Your Bill
As of May 1, 2022, the City of West Des Moines has partnered with Quick Med Claims (QMC) to handle all ambulance billing services. You can manage your account through their secure online portal.
Using the Patient Access Portal, you can:
- Pay your bill using Visa, MasterCard, or Discover.
- Use Flexible Spending (FSA) or Health Savings Account (HSA) cards.
- Update your insurance and contact information.
- Submit electronic signatures.
Required Info: Please have your run number and date of service ready. The WDM EMS Company Code is WDMEM.

Payment Policy
All fees are due when you receive your statement. Payments should be made promptly by the user or their legal guardian. Under special circumstances, the City Council may consider waiving fees. For more details, see the City Code on Payment of Fees.
