Historic West Des Moines is a vibrant community rich in character and history. To protect our historic buildings, we have established specific Design Guidelines created through community feedback.

The core of our business district is a National Historic District. Currently, 53 properties are recognized as "contributing historic properties." This list can grow as new properties are nominated and approved.
