Accessibility & ADA

The City of West Des Moines wants everyone—residents, visitors, and employees—to have equal access to our programs, services, and facilities. We work every day to meet the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and make our community more inclusive.

About the ADA

The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) is a federal civil rights law. It protects people with disabilities from discrimination, ensuring everyone has the same opportunities to enjoy city life, work, and local government.

ADA Coordinator

Our ADA Coordinator is here to help with accessibility questions or requests for support.

Request an Accommodation

If you need a specific change or extra support to participate in a City program or event—such as a sign language interpreter or materials in large print—please let us know.

Please submit your request at least 72 hours (3 days) before the event so we have enough time to make arrangements.
