A portion of Highway 28 to close on Sunday, Sept 28, at 6 a.m. for overhead floodgate testing on Grand Avenue

West Des Moines Public Services crews will be conducting their bi-annual testing of the overhead floodgates on Grand Avenue at 6 a.m. on Sunday, September 28.
During the test, Highway 28 (also known as 1st Street/63rd Street) will be closed for approximately an hour from Grand Avenue to I-235.
Residents are encouraged to follow the posted detour or use alternate routes during this time.
