West Des Moines Police responded to Valley Southwoods High School 625 S. 35^th Street around 10:42 AM September 10, 2025. Police are on site and are reporting there is no active threat.

In an abundance of caution, students and faculty were evacuated as a result of the alarm being set off. Police established an incident command post in the school and worked with school administration to secure the building. Part of that process was ensuring all students were accounted for. No injuries have been reported.

Police have a heavy presence at the school. Public safety personnel will remain on-site until the scene is released.
