Jaycee Park is a 7.06-acre hidden treasure nestled between the Sun Prairie and Barrington Estates neighborhoods, just west of Interstate 35 and south of Interstate 80. Established in 1987, Jaycee Park was created thanks to the donations and volunteer efforts of the West Des Moines Jaycees, a civic organization for which the park was named.
The playground is known for its beautiful landscaping and tall, shady trees, a perfect location to cool off and enjoy nature during the summer. The recently updated equipment includes accessible features that kids of all ages and abilities can enjoy.
Facilities include:
- Picnic shelter with grill (first come, first serve)
- Restrooms (open April 15 - October 15, weather permitting)
- Play equipment (2 to 5-year-old and 5 to 12-year-old areas)
- Large open playfield with backstop
- Tennis court (non-lit, striped for pickleball)
- Sand volleyball court (non-lit)
- Basketball court (non-lit)
- .33-mile loop trail
