Spanning over 62 acres, Holiday Park is one of West Des Moines' oldest and most active outdoor destinations. Whether you are hitting a home run, cooling off at the aquatic center, or exploring the trails, this park is the heart of summer fun in our community.
A Piece of History: Long before it was a park, this area was known as "Annie’s Bottom." Owned by Herman and Anna Raaz—the first bankers in West Des Moines—the land was originally a swampy duck-hunting spot and even served as a popular site for traveling circuses!
Sports & Recreation
Holiday Park is a premier destination for youth athletics and water play:
- Holiday Park Aquatic Center: Featuring one of the only swirl water slides in Central Iowa.
- Baseball & Softball: Home to WDM Youth Baseball and the WDM Girls Softball Association.
- Training: On-site batting cages and multiple backstops for practice.
