One of West Des Moines' oldest and most active parks is the 62.15 acre Holiday Park. Annie's Bottom, which is where Holiday Park is today, was owned by Herman and Anna Raaz, the first bankers in West Des Moines and was the local duck hunting spot because it was so swampy and often flooded. It also was the site of many circuses.

Home to one of the only swirl water slides in Central Iowa, Holiday Park Aquatic Center offers a fun and refreshing place to cool off on a hot summer day. For aquatic center information please call 515-273-0700.

Holiday Park is also home to the West Des Moines Youth Baseball and the West Des Moines Girls Softball Association. Throughout the summer months, the boys and girls are busy at play. Visit the Youth Sports page for more information on youth sports leagues in West Des Moines.
