Park hours are from 6:00 am to 10:30 pm daily.

All visitors are expected to adhere to the regulations established in the West Des Moines City Code while enjoying our facilities and trails.

Crossroads Park

Crossroads Park is a 17-acre park located at 5205 Ashworth Road, adjacent to Crossroads Park Elementary School.

Alcohol Policy: Because this park is located on school grounds, alcohol is strictly prohibited throughout the entire park.

Park Features

  • Picnic Shelter: Features a grill for public use.
  • Playgrounds: Separate play structures for ages 2-5 and 5-12.
  • Tennis: 6 lighted courts.
    • Courts 1-3: Striped for youth and adult play.
    • Courts 4-6: Striped for adult play only.
  • Sports: 1 softball field (skinned infield) and a large open playfield.
  • Restrooms: Available seasonally from April 15 to October 15.
  • Trails: Direct access to local walking and biking paths.
  • Skate Park: Currently closed for repairs.

After nearly two decades of heavy use on our old wooden ramps, we’re thrilled to unveil a brand-new, all-concrete facility designed for skaters and scooter riders of all skill levels.

Shaped by community feedback, this new setup features a wide assortment of street-style elements—including a slappy curb, box bollard, radius wedge, and quarter pipes—offering beginner-friendly zones alongside fun, flowing lines for more experienced users. Plus, the nearby multi-use recreation trail has been slightly rerouted to improve accessibility and create a smoother flow through the park.

Important Information

  • Court Booking: Reservations can be made up to 7 days in advance.
  • Court Booking Deadlines: Weekdays by 4:00 pm the day before; Weekends by 4:00 pm Friday.
  • Cancellations: No refunds; $10 fee for date/time changes.
  • Weather: Contact us within 3 days of a weather event for account credit.
