West Des Moines Digital Maps (WDMaps) is the City’s online GIS portal. Our GIS or “Geographic Information System” allows you to interactively search for and map many layers of information including addresses, parcels, utilities, land use, crime incidents, aerial photography and much more. Our GIS presents the most up-to-date maps available for West Des Moines.

• PDF Maps
The City publishes numerous maps in PDF format that can be downloaded and printed. To view and print these maps requires Adobe Acrobat Reader.
• GIS Data
The City also provides GIS data for download through our FTP site. To view these maps requires GIS software. Use of the GIS data and use of the FTP site are subject to the terms of the Digital Data Distribution Agreement.
The City participates in the Des Moines Area Regional GIS Partnership and the regional GIS data can be downloaded from the City of Des Moines’ website.
The City prints a limited number of paper maps. These maps are available to the public for free or for a fee.

The West Des Moines Zoning Map is available from Development Services. Paper copies or CDs can be purchased.. To purchase, contact the Development Services Department in City Hall at 222-3620. This map is also available for download in PDF format.
• Comprehensive Plan Land Use Map
The West Des Moines Comprehensive Plan Map is available from the Development Services department. Paper copies or CDs can be purchased. To purchase, contact the Development Services department at City Hall at 515-222-3620. This map also is available for dowload in .pdf format.
The West Des Moines Ultimate Streets Map is available from the Development Services department. Paper copies or CDs can be purchased for $6.00. To purchase, contact the Development Services department at City Hall, 515-222-3620. This map is ready to download in .pdf format.
