CurbIt! Grant ProgramShowImage

The GREEN Team submitted grant applications for Metro Waste Authority CurbIt! Revenue Sharing in January of 2008.  A total of $76,000 was received for the following:

  • Hand Dryers (to eliminate waste created in restrooms by paper towels)
  • Graffiti Removal Equipment & Truck (to address the increasing problem of graffiti on both public and private property)
  • Trash Containers (to help with litter throughout the park system)
  • Grapple Bucket & Sweeper Attachments (to facilitate clean up of illegal dump sites and to clean litter from trails)

Metro Waste Authority has provided nearly $1 million to its member communities through grants for cleanups, waste reduction and diversion since 2001. The grant program offers a reimbursement to schools, public and private groups/clubs and neighborhood associations for projects with an environmental focus that are located in their service area.
