One of our own was recognized on the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association's website. In 2010, Lt. Joe Downing responded on a 911 call to a local school, where one of our WDM PD officers was having a stroke. Through his years of experience and knowledge of paramedicine, Lt. Downing recognized that Officer Scott Davis was having a stroke and got him quickly to a local stroke certified center hospital, where Officer Davis was diagnosed, treated, and has since made a full recovery!
