Raccoon River Park Flooding Conditions

Several Park Areas Still Closed

Post Date:03/20/2019 3:16 PM

We've got some great news for you. Thanks to the hard and speedy work of our Public Services staff, Raccoon River Park is back to being fully open! All parts of the park are now accessible, including the boat dock. The trail has a fresh coat of gravel, the fishing pier is nice and clean, and the soccer complex is ready for some competitive play. Thanks for hanging in there with us. Your patience is truly appreciated!

3/29 UPDATE:

Trail - Rock to repair the trail will be delivered early next week. Public Services staff will be leveling and grading the washout area on the east end and will also be placing a thin coat of new gravel around the entire trail. The back portion of the trail is and will remain closed until repairs are completed. Work should take a few days, weather permitting, so the trail should be fully open by the middle of next week.

Boat Ramp & Parking Lot- The gate to the boat ramp will remain closed until the dock landing is no longer under water. The parking lot has been cleaned and is ready to be opened as soon as the water level drops.

Fishing Pier- The Fishing Pier is no longer below the water level, but it remains closed as it will need to be cleaned next week.

Dog Park- The Dog Park is open but still wet toward the back.

3/21 UPDATE:
Wag those happy tails!!! The Raccoon River Dog Park is NOW OPEN, but please be aware that it is muddy. Also, please remember to pick up after your dog(s) as we enter into this spring season.

As a reminder, only dogs who have a yearly or daily permit are allowed to use the Raccoon River Dog Park.

The following areas of the park are still closed:
