Aquatic Centers to resume normal schedule on Sunday, June 11!

Post Date:06/09/2017 3:10 PM
The City of West Des Moines is opening its two aquatic centers 7 days a week, starting on Sunday, June 11. The open swim schedule was modified for the first week of the season due to a shortage of lifeguards.

“Ensuring the safety of our swimmers is our number one priority,” said Greg Hansen, Superintendent of Recreation for the City of West Des Moines. “Our extra push to recruit additional lifeguards was successful, and we’re happy to once again have both our aquatic centers open seven days a week.”

Regular hours for both aquatic centers:

Holiday Park Aquatic Center, 1701 Railroad Avenue
Weekdays, 11:30 am - 7:00 pm
** Holiday will close at 5:30 pm for evening swim lessons from June 12-23, June 26-July 14 & July 17-28
Saturdays, 11:30 am - 6:00 pm
Sundays, 12:00 (noon) - 5:45 pm

Valley View Aquatic Center, 255 81st Street
Sunday through Friday, 12:00 (noon) - 5:30 pm, (5:30 – 6:30 pm adult swim and current walking), and
    6:30 - 8:30 pm
Saturday, 12:00 (noon) - 6:00 pm
