Civil Service Status

This is NOT a Civil Service position 

Regular Hours

Monday-Friday (8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.) including some evenings and weekends. 

Weekend work as required - currently will work one weekend every six weeks. Currently will work every other Thursday evening.

Tentative Start Date         October, 2019 

Job Summary & Requirements

Under the general direction of the Head of Collection Services, assists in the acquisition, cataloging, processing, and withdrawal of all library materials. Responsible for sorting and receiving library materials and making them shelf ready and processing inter-library loans. Assists in additional procedures to expedite flow of material through the department. Assists in the Circulation area as needed.
Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent plus 1 year of related work experience.
Must possess or obtain Public Library Certification – Support Staff Certificate (Iowa State Library) within 2 years of employment.
Physical/Drug Test  Post offer, pre-employment physical and drug test are required.
